Examining Nutrition, Exercise, and Renewal Goals for Yourself

a sense of wonder…

“If I had influence with the good fairy who is supposed to preside over the christening of all children, I should ask that her gift to each child in the world be a sense of wonder so indestructible that it would last throughout life, as an unfailing antidote against the boredom and disenchantments of later years, the sterile preoccupation with things that are artificial, the alienation from the sources of our strength.”
Rachel Carson

Thank you once again for starting my week with a thoughtful quotation. This particular quotation means a lot to me; I tried to instill these values in my own children and have often quoted this excerpt to parents and have given a picture book with Carson’s full essay to new parents. The book has photos of the Maine coast where Carson and her nephew Roger shared the wonder of Nature together. It’s a powerful lesson that my parents taught me.
